Default smog pump delete?

i was told by some young now it all that i dont need the smog pump delete aka the idler pulley to take its spot, he says that ford made a 5.0 without a smog pump so i could just take off the pump and get a belt for a 5.0 without a smog pump, is he full of sh** or does he actually know what hes talkin about. thanks

You can just bypass the smog pump by using a shorter belt.

I used a smog pump delete idler pulley though since a friend had a spare one.

Take a piece of string and run it along the pullies like a belt and then measure it- thatshow big of a belt youll need.

none of us will readily know the belt size offhand b/c we dont have the s/c kit you have...

measure it out with a string and subtract 1"-1.5"
