i just bought a power steering pump because the one on my car went bad well i install the new one and the pully is loose and if im not mistake it should be pressed in what do i do???? please help i have no ride to work tomorrow

in the center of the shaft there is a threaded hole. install a long bolt and use a washer and but to force the pully on.

i tried the bolt that came with it and it wont thread in only the begining of it i have tried a million bolts and none works

If you had to remove the old one with a puller then all is well you should have to press on the new one with the bolt and washer set up that comes with a new pump....if your's slides on...I'd suspect a worn shaft pulley on the reman one and or the wrong pump....I'd take it back and exchange it for another one...

the oldpully just slid off it had gotten loose in the past and i had it held with a bolt does this matter

if you can slide the pulley off the old pump, AND slide it onto the new pump, have you considered the pulley might be worn? too tight of a belt can cause a press-on pulley to come loose from the shaft.

yea im going to be tryin out a new pulley tomorrow im getting it from a friend cuz ford wanted 67 bucks for that crap

i bet your old pump isn't even bad. i bet the pulley is spinning right around it.

yep thats what i was thinking to but ehhh should the new pump eliminate the whine my old one had or is thats fords trademark? lol
