RE: Annoying Rattle
do you have long tubes. mine is rattle where the tubes go into the collector. and thats not fixable, unless i want to pay some major cash.if you hear it when your next to a wall alot louder atleast you know its on your drivers side. good luck.

samseed, what were you thinking could be the problem?

I noticed you said you can barely hear it at idle... can you hear it enough to get under there and pinpoint hte source (whtout burning the **** out of yourself.) Does it get louder as the speed increases or as the RPM increases (yes, there's a difference, lol.) Also, does it make a difference if the road is smooth or rough?

RE: Annoying Rattle
smoothness or roughness of the road makes no difference. its a whistling sorta noise and it seems to be coming from the front part of the midpipe. yesterday it was put on a lift at a local muffler shop and checked out and nothing is really loose, but could be just enough for some air to slip through. also, there are absolutely no leaks, which suprised everyone working on it.

RE: Annoying Rattle
There's a HUGE difference between a "rattle" and a "whistle." If it's near the front, it could be associated with the tube that runs to the smog pump. Is that still attached or is it disconnected? Whatever it is (connected or not) try the opposite and see if it changes anything at all (just temporarily.) such as the loudness, tone, pitch, etc.
