Default adaptable 5spd

What year/model cars have a T5 that will bolt up to an 87-93 mustang 5.0? I've heard some Ford Ranger 5 speeds bolt up & only need a different shifter to work, but am unsure the year(s). Does anyone know any others? or the year(s) in which the ranger transmission would swap?

honestly i would just buy a good t-5 built for your car.i learned the hard way and went thru 3 trannys till i bought a good one. S/C t birds,im not sure about the ranger, and 4 cylinder mustang trannys have a smaller torque rating and they will probably fail the first time you lay into it.i bought mine from astro performance warehouse ask for tony.i bought mine from him for 699 plus my old tranny as a core.it has tremec enternals and holds 400 horses i love mine o and it also has a warranty! -chris-

i ask ford racing the same Question a few weeks ago and they said the only direct fit t-5 for a mustang is a t-5 from a mustang all others will need input or tail shaft work to fit.

Not one of these: "From 1983 to 1988 the Rangers used the TOYO KOGYO 4 & 5 speed transmissions and the MITSUBISHI 5 speed transmission. "

That comes from a site about putting 5.0 engines into rangers
