this could be bad
replaced my lifters thinking that they were calapsed...because some of the rockers werent even touching the springs one night after revving out a little to far to try and win a race....but i replaced them and put new ones in an some of lifters seemed to be sitting a little lower then the should of been....i was just thinking that was because of the locationof thelobe of the cam...but i put the motor back together...reset the rr and valves and still make a slight tapping noise....any problems....might be internal?

yeah, a "tap" is usually up top - use a piece of garden hose or heater core hose or something of the like to make a redneck stethescope and see if you can pinpoint where the sound is coming from.

Sometimes valvetrains have a bit of noise too, even hydraulic. Mine makes constant noise, though it's very minimal. Full roller rockers and everything. But it'll go out to nearly 7,000rpm without a single problem.
