I'm replacing the battery cables and it looks like for the first time in 20 years and cant disconnect from a connector that comes of the terminal ona 12 or 14 gauge wire. the tabs r broken off and when using pliers it wiggles but no movement out tried this for 30mins. any ideas what to do and what this wire leads to.[IMG][/IMG]

I don't know what the wire goes to, but it appears to have a spring cam locking mechanism based on the picture. I'm assuming you tried pressing down on the bump that's inside the slot on the top side of the terminal in your picture. If not you should try that or pulling up on the slotted part of the terminal. I find that a small flat blade screw driver is useful for this.
