Default smog port plugs

will running my 5.0 (smog pump removed, no cats) without plugs in the ports on the heads (E7) be really bad?

I do not have it running yet (at school) and I dont know where to find plugs for them, or if I should just use some short bolts to cover them up...

thanks

if your talkin bout the tube(idk 1/2in) that runs from the rear of both heads.. i ran mine for a while with nothing there, but i would at least put a bolt in there and weld it..

dont weld the bolt. i dont remember the size but you can thread a bolt in there. if you dont cover/plug up these holes, then it will smell really bad and there will be carbon buildup around the holes.

5/8"-11. They need to be about 3/4"-1" long. It you cant find those them make some cover plates and use some 5/16"-18 bolts and bolt them on using the holes that hold the smog tube on. Thats what I did.

There are 2 holes, one for the bolt and another for the tube, I cut a piece of metal, drilled a hole for the bolt and used RTV around the hole then bolted it

the shorest bolts i could find at Home Depot were 2" so i just used some washers and cut the bolts down and they snugged right up.
