clutch?!
hey everyone... i did use the search feature and i found a couple things that helped but i would like som additional advice.
so today i was driving back from work and when i went to get in the highway (onramp) i started accelerating in 3rd while going arod the bend it reved up higher than it should have. so i let off and then it did it again when i was accelerating on the highway in 5th... so i believe my clutch is starting to go.. after it warmed up tho it didnt do it n e more..
could my clutch just be out of adjustment a little? should i turn the adjuster clockwise or counterclockwise to tighten it up? cuz it does seem to catch at the top.
if the cluch is toast what brand kit would you guys reccomend? i dont want a KC or stocker so thoes are out.. how are the Spec stage 1 clutches? they are rated at 410lb/ft. but some people told me that they wear out fast? what other brands would you guys reccomend? i dont have all that much to spend id like it to be around $200.
and i will do the install myself. ive read a how to that someone posted in annother thread and it has the step by step w/ pics.
thanx everyone

RE: clutch?!
I think the Spec stage 1 clutch is probably a great clutch. A lot of people cannot drive and wear parts out faster than normal so you can't always listen to what some people say. Everyone that has a Spec clutch around here seems to love it.

RE: clutch?!
dime about how many miles have you put on it? mine is my DD aswell.
i dont see too many future mods in the next few years that will surpass 410lb/ft stock has what? like 280? plus stage 2 is $100 more and im a college student that doesnt have much money to spend so $188.96 is good lol. thats for the stage 1 kit
do you guys think i should buy the entire kit or just the disk and throw out bearing? cuz i already have an aftermarket clutch in it and it is pretty damn stiff. but im not sure on what brand cuz the guy b 4 me put it in..

I'm running the Ram HD and love it. Usually ~$160. Be sure you check your input bearing retainer for scarring when you pull the tranny. If it IS galled up, replace it w/ a steel one or you may have issues w/ the pedal "sticking" or being difficult to push.
