1993 factory alarm ?
this is in regards to my dome/hatchlight thread. i changed the battery to the alarm , and when i put the negative battery cable back on the alarm was going off but when i hit the button to the alarm nothing happened .. inside the car on the dash to the left of the column is the red alarm light and on my column is a black button about the same size .. is there a way to reset the alarm if you disconnect and connect the battery ?

RE: 1993 factory alarm ?
If there is a little red blinking light (led) it sounds as if it's an aftermarket alarm....look for a toggle switch around the footwell area ....usually it's a manual shut off but if I were you I'd look under the dash for the alarm module box and crimped on/spliced connections which will indicate a aftermarket alarm.....I'd remove it if I were you.....to my knowledge 93 mustangs didn't come with factory installed alarms as there is no info for them in the factory database when I did a search at work... unless it was a dealer option installed.

RE: 1993 factory alarm ?
well i checked with the guy who sold me the car .. he said he was pretty sure it was a factory alarm but it could have been a dealer alarm .. i got the battery hooked up again and the alarm is not goinf off any more and the dome/hatch light are no longer on .. but something still doesnt seem right .. i just switched the batteries in the alarm and its working .. i never even heard the alarm before but when i first started the car it made a lil chirp .. then when i hit the alarm buttom nothing happenes then all of the sudden it starts working again ... does any one know if there is a proper way to reset these things with those lil buttons i described before maybe ??? any one ???
