try "cam motion" in baton rough, la. they make a pretty good custom grind camshaft. their not that exspensive and they will take your setup and fit it to your car. that would be my sugguestion to you. alot of the guy that running some serious times swear by them.

That is the lift numbers with 1.7 RR because the cam is designed to use them. This setup is going to be a strictly street driven car with an aftermarket computer for tuneability. Now what do you guys think about the cam since you know about the lift numbers.

Lots of 94/95 guys run that cam. I think it's a little conservative.

Not trying to take the thread over, but my setup is almost identical and I've been pondering cam choices too.

So... Since everyone says that cam is a bit weak (and I tend to agree), what do you recommend?

maybe this one?

although it seems to put you in the same power range.

how about this one?

seems to put the top end more where i'd like to see it anyways

thats just a quick skim of crane's bumpsticks. oh yeah, and rhoades makes roller lifters (i never knew they did) which means if you use them your cam will act "smaller" at idle and low rpms but will reach its full potential around 3000 rpms. think of it like VTEC for our cars

I did some looking and was thinking a Lunati 51014 might be a good choice.

Duration @ .050: (IN/EX): 218/226
Lift IN/EX: .500"/.510"
RPM Range: 2000-6000

It seems like a dual pattern version of the F cam. Also, Lunati cams appear to be VERY expensive. I found an interesting Crower (15512) too, but its over $350!

A little more duration and a little less lift (with 1.6 ratio rockers). It's hard to pick a cam when I don't have a flow sheet for my heads yet. Please correct me I'm wrong, but GT-40s (mine are not P heads) are known to drop off after .500 lift. I have no idea what they're going to flow above .500. Usually the longer duration comes with the higher lift that might actually hurt me, and could require piston cutting.

So... The hunt continues. Keep throwing stuff out if you've got it.
