first make sure you have 12 volts from the battery to the always hot side of the selonoid put the aligator clip of the test light on the neg side of the battery ...touch test light to battery = should light thento always hot side of selonoid =-should light okay??? do that and report

then have someone hold the key in the crank position and then touch the test light to the hot when cranking side of the selonoid = test light should light when key is held in the crank position the hot side when cranking is the side of the selonoid that has the cable that goes down to the starter... perform this test and report!!

ok well the solenoid is good i think i need a new starter

so the test light lite up when key was held in the crank position on the hot when cranking side???
