94 gt with 351w WILL IT FIT?
Hey guys its me again. I tried to see if I could answer the question on my own but with no avail Im here. I have a 94 gtmustang and I recently purchased a EFI 351w from a 94 bronco and I am rebuilding it as we speak but I was wondering if I would even have enough room for the engine in my 94 gt. Has anyone else attempted this. Also he told me its a roller engine...does he mean dual overhead cam or what? Also if you have done this before could you tell me anything that I might run into problem wise. Like will my aftermarket exhaust mods bolt right up. Will i need a bigger tranny or to rebuild mine so that way it will hold the hp from the 351w. Please help me. thanks!

it will fit just not underneath the stock hood
as far as roller is concerned it means like a roller cam roller rockers and things like that
this article should answer some of your questions

RE: 94 gt with 351w WILL IT FIT?
The block I am rebuilding is a 351 EFI out of a 94 bronco. It is a roller engine but I have heard the efi 351s were weak. All I would be doing is driving it on the weekends or so...very minimum because of gas consumption and also take it to the track probably 5-10 times a year. I dont want to have a car that is giving me trouble because it has a weak engine in it. One last ? I have is switching from a 302 5.0 to a 351 going to make me lose driveability of my car. Thanks in advance for the input.

I believe the '95 Cobra Rs had a 351w from the factory, but they needed a taller hood due to the bigger deck height. The "roller" comment does mean that it uses a hydraulic roller cam setup as opposed to flat tappet lifters. The rocker arms are most likely the sliding non-roller type but you should have no problem picking up a set of roller rockers for it if you want.

As stated above it will work with a different hood. Pick up the latest MM&FF magazine and check out the SN197 car pulling down almost 900hp with a pushrod strokerThat guy knows how it really should be done

A 351 isn't a performance motor, so unless you're built to the gills you don't need to worry about it bouncing around...I've saw 460 big blocks stuck into a 94-98 but i can't remember the hood it had on it... But you could make it fit if you determined enough to set the engine lower in the car... But a cowl hood would probably fit the budget a little better... And yes, the 95 cobra r came out with a 351 in it...

does anyone know what block r barn has?
does anyone know what block r barn has?
serial number of block should start with F4 if it is a '94
and will have the holes in center valley to screw down the dog bone spider hold down
that is used in with roller lifters like in our 302's
and yes, if you want this 351W conversion to be worth the effort you need
to BIG high performance heads on there and a fairly aggressive cam and intake
If you're just putting stock heads back on there it's not worth the effort
