Harmonic balancer.... and rear end
I know how to pull a harmonic balancer with a puller but is it possible to do it without (and not tear anything up). I just dont want to wait and the store is closed already. Thanks.
Oh, and I was wondering about my rear end (ok that didnt come out right...)If I were to add some power to my 302 (say 400hp) would I need to change the rearend if it already has a 9in. I do not know the condition of it because I have not gotten that far.
Does the gearing matter as far as the car being able to handle the power or does the gearing only change the way the car behaves?
Please excuse my ignorace. [sm=hail.gif]

RE: Harmonic balancer.... and rear end
get the puller tommorow. the 9 inch is just about as good as it gets as long as the internals are ready for the power. look under 95% of nascars and no matter what make they are they sport a ford9 inch rearend. whats that tell ya!!! gears only effect how fast you will run through the power bands in the motor. in other words how quick you will go through each gear. its like this..... a 3.73 gear in the rtearend with a t-5 and 400 hp would probably run through the end of the 1/4 mile in fourth gear at about 3500 rpm or so where as a 4.30 gear would be in forth at about 5000 rpm. you get it now.
