Default turning radius

I've got a turning radius of 40.8 in my 92 LX as far as I know. I'd like that to be lower. First, I'm not sure what exactly needs to be replaced. Do I have to get a whole new rack and pinion? Also, I've seen rack and pinion sets available but they're measued in ratios (15:1, 20:1). How do these translate into a 40.8 turning radius? What turning ratio would make the 40.8 that I already have?

ive heard the limiting factor in the fox is the front control arms, they are too wide close to the wheel. some drifter/powerslide guys are trying to develop bolt on replacements that have more clearance for that same reason

For sure! That will cut your turning radius in half if you do it right.

5.0L Mustang Manual Rack & Pinion

These Flaming River racks are designed for the 5.0L (79-93) Mustang (Also available for 94-04 Mustang non Modular engines). The 5.0 Mustang kits are available in standard 20:1 ratio and 15:1 Quick Ratio versions. These racks are ideal for road racing and other applications where a very responsive steering system is required.
Steering Specifications:

Standard
- 20:1 ratio, 4 turns lock to lock.

Quick Ratio: 15;1 ratio, 3.3 turns lock-to-lock (25% faster than a standard unit).

Rack travel:
5.25". Mounting position: 15-1/2" center-to-center.

Power Steering Rack (15-1 )IS WHAT YOU WANT, you can get into ackerman issues and bumpsteer with the other

My 95 turns pretty tight. I drove my gf's eclipse and that thing don't turn worth a sh*t.

get some aftermarket tubular a-arms and take out one of the steering limiters. its a little plastic spacer in the rack. ofcourse you'll have to go with coil overs too.
