Default quick question..help

alright i was wondering if you can fit a tire that is an in. bigger then the rim??? is it bad to do that an will it not look right?
im wanting to put a 9in tire on 8in rim in the front,and 10in tire on a 9 in rim on the rear. anyone ever done this?im sure it can be done just would it cause any problems?

the front would be 275/40-17 and the rear 285/40-17
