Default 347 or 308

i just built a 347 and a head gasket blew. the tech working on it let the motor sit for a week with antifreeze in the motor before draining it. so of course the brand new bearings are shot. it will cost 650 to fix the 347 or my buddy wants to trade for his 308 what has a wicked combo. he wants to trade me for my motor dissasembled for his and he will even put it inthe car, port my heads (1970 351w) and flow them, then dyno the car. all for a striaght trade. i have been around the 308 for all its life so i know whats really init. the 308 went 11.90 the last time at the track on a 89 notch. last dyno the car with the 308 made 283hp with a stock cam. it now has a good comp cam.

what should i do?

I have to agree with Matt here.... that shop is up to no good...

and coolant wont ruin bearings unless the car was run.

so how exactly did the block get filled with coolant anyway?
and why was it intentionally run with both of you knowing that there was coolant in there?
