Default limiter?

I was just wondering what the speed limiter was set at on a 1994 mustang gt? I am trying tofigure out if the previous owner put a chip in it or not. I had the car up to 110 but it was still letting me go faster. I always thoughtit would be somewhere around 100 or so. Thanks.

I don't think there is a speed limiter on the car, or a rev limiter from the factory. I could be wrong, but I don't think I am.

I"m pretty sure the top speed is drag limited at least in case of FOX mustangs (140+ mph has been thrown out there) and there is a revlimiter as well at about 6250 rpm. I'd be amost certain that an SN95 woudl also have the rev limit, and may top speed a lil bit higher. Justa guess though. 110mph is nothing fo a V8 stang though. I have had little 100hp 4 banger cars that high.

thanks for the info. I didn't really want to find out myself and go any faster on the street because I couldn't afford a real big ticket. I think if you double the speed limit, its an automatic felony.

I could do 140 in my cobra, stock...

there is no electronic governor, you are drag limited... soon as you hit fifth gear, you will start to slow down

I agree with ~140 stock with no limiter. I've seen that number listed on SVT's website awhile ago and after figuring out top speeds per gear with Excel (I was bored ) the numbers seemed to agree with that. I've never personally been over 110 in the car though. I do beleive from '96-up the Cobras were electronically limited to 155 but I don't know about the GTs.
