Default Race seats - Harness

Morning people....
1.)I'm shopping for a race seat. I have a 93 LX. It needs to be comfortable enough to ride everyday too. (something that reclines) I've been looking at the APC seats. They "look" nice and are relatively inexpensive. Any tips on buying a seat? What do you guys have? Is it comfy? Do you like it? Lastly .. Do I need anything special to mount it? I know they come with sliders but I would imagine there is more hardware needed I saw a pair on Ebay for 199 to 249. That's the cheapest I've seen them. 100 bucks for shipping.. I can swing that.

2.) What are you guys using for a harness.. 4 or 5 point? My car has no cage. From what I can see, I would need to bolt the harness into the existing seat belt mounts on either side of the seat and then bolt the other ones to the mounts in the back seat. Does this sound right?
Thanx for your help

either jegs or summit (I think jegs) makes a nice comfortable recardo style seat, so does APC. oh, and getting a 4 or 5 point harness on a car with no rollbar = deathwish if the car rolls over

I have APC seats and yes they are comfy seats but you have to buy the mounting brackets

I was going to put a 4 point harness bc i dont like the fit of the 5 point

And yes you are right about the mounting of the harness

MD - I never thought of that. I autocross the car and I'm taking it to a "track day" at LimeRock raceway in CT this summer. I figured the harness would help me stay planted in the seat. Last thing I want to do is roll-over and die... !!!

StangLX - The brackets you speak of... Are they specific to make/model of the vehicle? How much were your brackets?

thanx guys

if you autocross you should at least get a 4 point bar... their cheap and 4 points dont take up much room and you can still use your back seat

I have APC seats and like them.I made the brackets myself for about $6.00 and a little of my time. They are a little wide and just hit on the door panel. When I made the bracket I bought some solid angle steel Then made the holes for the sliders bolted the bracket on the slider. Then with the bolts in the bottom of the seat set it on top of the bracket and traced the bolt heads and then drilled the holes for it to bolt to the seat.

Here is a few pics of them in my car.Don't mind the 2 diffrent color interior.
