thanks, so if i wanted to use this crank
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p;autoview=sku
do i have to get different rods? it says 5.4inch rods but would i have to get lesser comp pistons? and when it asks about pistons if its -cc that means it has less comp. right? sorry for all the questions

thats a stroker crank, you need the proper rods and pistons to make that combination work and you would end up with a 347.

hmm ok thanks, so i need to get 5.4" rods, how would i measure my clearance? i want a higher comp engine, 11-12.1? on imports it was way simpler lol the pistons were just labelled as 11:1 comp and that was it, but the whole -cc thing confuses me

i think i get the pistons a bit now, so the more -cc it is the higher the comp is going to be right? but the rod thing confuses me, if i used the stock rods and just got higher comp pistons wouldnt i have more displacement but less comp? would i make more power that way or less displacement and higher comp? please let me know if something i say doesnt make sense lol

-cc pistons are dished out, the number of -cc's is how many cubic centimeters it is "dished" out. pop ups, or domes pistons give you more compression. Just make sure you get a piston that has proper clearance so the valves dont hit them.

the reason imports are like that is because the heads rarely are changed, and if they are typically the combustion chambers stay the same size. there are so many different size combustion chambers out there, that they cant just sell a piston as 11.1:1. it may be that way in one motor with a 64cc combustion chamber, but with a 76 cc chamber that would be more like a 10.5:1 ratio depending on the bore.
