Default quick afr 165 question..yes i searched!

hey im going to purchase afr 165s and i was wondering if i need new rocker arms for them..i have a 90 lx
also if you could link me that would be great.

i am going to need the head bolts but i can't find the proper part if someone wants to help me out
also the head gaskets too

are you asking if your stock ones will fit from the stock 302 motor?

the AFR heads are created and designed to used with roller rockers, not stamped steel stock rockers.

you will need to know of the stud size is that of 3/8 or 7/16 for them to be mounted upon. Next will be the ratio, 1.6's are great.

What camshaft are you purchasing? and Intake etc? pics/?

yes you need new ones and they need to be roller rockers pending the head choice either pedastal or stud!!! I perfer stud mount!!! as for the head haskets I believe they are fel pro 1011-1??? check afr's wesite they list all necassary info

as you see in the photo , The type of bolts used to hold them down, have polylocks, which means after you have set valve lash tightening down the bolt, you use a hex key in the center to tighten the poly lock internal screw down , to prevent the nut from ever loosening.

currently did 165 afr on my bronco they do recommend different push rods and it would benifit you to change to roller rocker.
