Default Quad Shock question ! ! ! !

What is the purpose of the quad shock setup?Can i just take it off or do ineed togetsomething. I have a 92 and i want to take it off for bigger tires.

Doing my conversion I have heard that the quad shocks help out alot when launching the car and to control wheel hop, I put them on my conversion car because I heard it makes a big difference for hooking up.

I just took mine off for clearance, but I have a set of control arms. Without a good set of C/A your car will wheel hop since the factory stuff is crap.

You can turn them around for more clearance, but yeah, they're to stop wheel hop.

look at it this way... ford didnt put them there for no reason... if they didntneed them, they would be there... car maunfacturers are cheap like that...


get better control arms and take the quads off

can i just keep the control arms stock and redo the bushings with prothaneor do i need to get a good set of c/a

I would get a good set of U/L control arms... or in the mean time just flip the quad shocks around so you can fit your bigger tires

Get both. Wheel hop is when you launch, or do a burn out, instead of the tires staying firmly planted on the surface, they actually bounce up and down violently.
