RE: remove cats?
i see that it can make a difference but since i cant find an x pipe for long tube headers would a exhaust shop make a custom one? and if they did would i gain just as much performance as if i bought one online or from a store?

RE: remove cats?
I am pretty sure Jegs has some as i am looking thru my catalog Jegs catalog that is they have a BBK o/r H-pipe short h-pipe they call it for $119.99 so try jegs.com they should have short o/r x-pipes to. Also who cares if its against the law it sounds so much cooler and your car smells better with out cats I HATE TREE HUGGERS!

RE: remove cats?
Just keep the cats handy cuz as I'm sure you know fl used to have emission test and they may and most likely in the near future most everyone will have to pass emission tset. Not an tree hugger just facing the facts. I just found out a couple months ago that emission testing is starting april, where I live (Hamilton County TN). That sucks cuz when I got the car previous owner took off part of emission stuff, check valves, cats, tube that connects the heads. So just keep your stuff handy incase fl goes back to emission testing

RE: remove cats?
A few things to consider here,
1. Removing the cats are all fine and good but you will smell gas. Trust me on this, Its a common problem and well documented on other forums.
2. Finding a muffler shop that will take a risk of removing cats or putting any sort of exhaust without cats on a car that requires them by law will be next to impossible. There are huge fines involved for a professional establishment that has to answer to government regulations.
3. They really wont give you that much of a gain by removing them and unless you like headaches and a gas smell as listed above I wouldnt do it. I bought my car with all the emmisions stuff removed and I will be putting the cats back on or going with an aftermarket ECM to take some fuel out at idle.
Just my opinion though...

RE: remove cats?
LOL are you serious down in America the exaust shops wont take your cats off... Thats one sheety deal, within the first hour of owning my mustang I went to Midas Muffler got a fresh pair of RAVIN Mufflers and ran 2 3/4 all the way from the headers out the back with no cats, All custom bends for 800 buck Canadian. That was with the mufflers that cost 200 bucks a piece. Dude go with Ravins they are amazing exaust.
