RE: HELP NEEDED FUEL PUMP
Start by replacing your fuel filter. If its been restricting the flow for a long time it can burn up the pump. If it still makes a lower pitched noise than normal, check the voltage at the pump, after that, its the pump.

RE: HELP NEEDED FUEL PUMP
take a rubber mallet, non marring one, and get up under the car and hit the fuel tank while someone is trying to turn the car over and there is a chance you could get the fuel pump to kick on, and if it does, you know you need a new fuel pump...there should also be a relay under the drivers seat for the fuel pump and you can check that

our 5.0s dont have the supercool inertia switch do they? ive never bothered to check....someone coulda bumper ur car and set it off.....
Edit:
wait, nvm, if it was tripped.....the pump wouldnt make any noise....but thats always a good thing to check on newer cars lol

lol, i wasnt sure. ive only had mine for like 4 months.....not much in the way of fuel problems, knock on wood. i know ford started sometime in the 90's, they gave a lot of problems on some cars, especially with golfers lol....where is the switch at, just for my knowledge...but like i said, if he can hear his pump run then its not the inertia switch

RE: HELP NEEDED FUEL PUMP
haha yes foxes do have inertia switches. it is located in front of the d/s tail light on the inside of the car. there should be a hole in the plastics so you can touch the button w/o havin to take the panel off
