Default Gear Drive help

hey i recently purchased a gear drive set and it did not come with instructions ive searched over and over but empty handed. all i really need to know is for the 2 gears connected which side should the bigger gear be on driver or passenger

Gear drive for the timing? Where did you buy it from? You can probably call them and tell them it came w/o instructions and ask if they can mail some to you. Summit usually have the instructions in pdf format on the part page.

Meh My G/f got them off of ebay, i was kinda dissapointed that she didnt get me pete jacksons but what can i do lol


hey i checked out summit and i couldnt find a pdf file for the installation

lol......ebay stuff huh......ok, ive never done those, but arent the idler gears supposed to be the same size? i dont see how the gears could be constantly meshed on a fixed axis, and not be the same size.... ive read that some of those require u modify ur timing cover, it didnt elaborate

yea i did have to mod the cover but not much just grinded the ear off thats on the inside of the cover...but yea the gears are 2 dif sizes and im skeptical of which side they are suposed to be on

thats wut im saying, they are touching two identical gears, rotating in opposite directions. How can one be a diff size, and not bind the whole thing up? they dont move off the little axle deal, so they cant rotate at diff speeds without stopping each other......someone plz correct me if im wrong, ive never seen this first person, but all the pics and all looked identical

if they are supposed to be that way i would put it on the same way it is in the pictures.... rotate everything by hand though to make sure it rotates freely. But im still not sure

ive tried that either way u place them they move smoothly with the big gear on either side but im not sure which should be on the torque side
