Default speedo needle

I got the needle wrapped all the way around and it fell out and now my speedometer cable is making a clicking noise and it gets faster as i accelerate... I know I need to put that needle back in but will I need to replace that cable also? Or is it just clicking because the needle's out?

You might have broke the end of the cable or stripped it out.The only way to find out is pull it all apart and look at the cable. It shouldn't make any noise from the needle not being on.My guess is the cable stripped at the speedo.

Buried my needle past 140mph when I first got her and still had some rpms to play with. That was the best thing I have ever done to it . Blew the injectors out and she ran like a champ.
