3rd gear

3rd gear
Ok, so I rebuilt my transmission a few weeks ago. And I'm competent enough to do that, diagnosing manual transmissions isnt something ive practiced. So here's my problem, if i accelerate any decent amount in 2nd gear, and wind it out past like, 3000 rpm, when i go to shift to 3rd, it wants to grind. I know the first thought is driver error, but i consciously kicked the clutch all the way to the floor, and then pushed it up, and it still does it. but if i wait a second for the rpms to drop, it wont. I'm guessing the synchro isnt slowing the gear enough to completely mesh? Someone plz help

RE: 3rd gear
is your clutch adjusted right mine did the same thing except it was 2nd and 3rd i adjusted my clutch and worked fine after that. also found out that the clutch was worn , replaced it and works even better. hope that helps

RE: 3rd gear
my clutch should be fine......idk though, i maxed it out on adjustment. pedal is good though, engages like, 3 inches off floor and is fully disengaged about2inches before top. I put all new synchros in the transmission, so it should be fine, but i didnt measure the freeplay. it didnt feel excessive though

RE: 3rd gear
maybe you put it together too tight... this is easy to do...
as for not checking and shimming it correctly... that was stupid...
id open it back up... and compare how 3rd syncro looks/moves/feels, compared to the others... chances are you have it and the cone it rides on to tight together
