plugs and wires are about 10k miles old same with the cap and rotor and i think this sounds like a miss fire but i dunno its fine under acceleration or just normal driving.

sounds like a valvetrain issue to me.
put your hand up near the tailpipe. if you can feel the exhaust actually "slapping" your hand, you have valvetrain issues, IE weak springs, etc...

ha good call my springs are shot i cant even pull past 5k at all just stops right there like there is a brick wall. i guess its time for some new heads
if you have no vaccum leaks then you could have a broken spring and or a partially burnt valve whick a compression test will tell you and then to narrow down from there you can try a cylinder leakage test and listen for where the air escapes...this will just tell you the integrity of the internals and not anything about the springs...you'd have to inspect those visually and or remove them and test spring pressures
yeah i know how to do all that stuff i just dont have the time since its my daily driver although next open shop for school ill bring it in and do a leak down. as for a cam i really dont know everything is mostly stock just a built carb full exhaust timing to 16* which i have to back off a little she just started pinging a little bit. stock the car should do 175 hp and 245 tq to the crank i ran her on the dyno at school and put down 173 hp and 261 tq at the wheels and the curves were nice and solid no real up in downs and all over the place
yeah i was actually very happy with what it put down not to mention it has 186k and a daily driver. i guess 175hp and 260tq before we ran it i dont think anyone has guessed so close like that before it was funny as hell. even on the dyno run you could see right as it hit 5k the numbers just dropped straight down it was retarded so i know my springs are shot and i have been planning on getting a set of gt40 heads
