95 cobra NEEDS HELP!!
I have a 95 svt cobra that falls on its face when you press on the gas. It has no acceleration what so ever and will barely hit 100. I just changed the spark plugs and dont know whats wrong?

RE: 95 cobra NEEDS HELP!!
Yes it does it runs good but just has no power. No hesitation. The RPMS when you gun it dont shoot up like they should. Well ive heard it could be the fuel filter and im getting a new one tomorrow! And what is a mass air meter

RE: 95 cobra NEEDS HELP!!
the mass air meter measures the amount/speed of the air entering the motor so it knows how much fuel to add....this is the simple way to explain it.....on the air tube going to the throttle body or on the air box where the air filter is if you still have the stock one if not and you've got a k&n filter there is an electrical connection going to that tube ...it's usually a 4 to 5 wire connector that is where your mass air meter is...I'd clean it with special cleaner called mass air cleaner bought at napa or autozone.......if you got a k&n filter what happens is the oil off the filter collects on the sensor and the residue skews the readings then the car falls on it's face on acceleration!!!

no don't cut them off just yet but they could be partially restricted if they've broken apart and started to clogg the pipes......start simple first like cleaning the mass air and remove fuel filter and try to blow through the inlet side.....if you turn red in the face like a beet then replace it

RE: 95 cobra NEEDS HELP!!
get under the car and remove one of the O2 sensors from the exhaust, and take the car for a ride. Yes, you might get a check engine light. but if it runs much better and feels like it has more power than before... its time to ditch your cats
