comp test is 140 ok???

RE: comp test is 140 ok???
that sounds pretty good for that cylinder. How many miles?
Have you checked the other seven cylinders? You will want to check all eight twice. Take each set of numbers, add them together, divide by two. You take the average of each cylinder, write them down in a manner they are arranged like the cylinders are in the engine. You will get a very good idea of where if any problems are. Also try a complete "dry" test of the engine, then use a little oil in each cylinder and see if the numbers change at all.

so far those numbers look okay. like I said, get them all, average a couple tests, and lay them out in a picture as the engine sits. You don't want too much difference between the highest and the lowest readings. I believe an overall standard is you dont' want more than 10 psi difference between the highest reading and lowest reading.

yep 30w oil or 10w30 will work right?

testing them all "dry" and then repeating the procedure with a few squirts of oil in each cylinder will tell you if you have leaking piston rings.

yeah either will do. Just make sure it is engine oil! :-)
If your numbers change only a little or not at all by adding the oil, then you probably have a good bottom end and it may just be a head rebuild/replacement that you need. You'd be surprised how much leaks by worn valves and such.
Anway, I have school tomorrow, so I'm out for now. PM me anytime I'd be glad to talk tech stuff with ya!
