you guys make good points..i guess somethin about runnin all motor no power adder is cool..makes it feel more like the old true muscle lol..but ok so say i were to buy forged pistons for a 306 rebuild...then since im on a kinda limited budget look into some ported headed from thumper(ur opinion about thumper is welcome) and a cam to match..maybe a performer intake....id be up around like 320 or so right? maybe a little less thanks to my pos aode...anyway just seein what ya think...if you have opinions, please feel free to let them be known..thanks

for strength try drilling the mains for bigger 350 main studs. that will help out.

Also a Main girdle on the engine will add strengh to the lower end....plus a good arp stud kit ..

if you go the thumper route i will say somewhere around 260-280 range

wow i guess i had hoped it would be a little closer to the 300 mark..but i guess im not suprised...cant take a stock head that far..alright so sayiget the pistons for the 306,with AFRs 165s...steeda 19 cam...and ill probably get told no on this..but if i stayed with my gt40 intake for now(supposedly rated to 350hp) plus the usuals..headers, exhaust, i already have a 65mm bbk throttle body.this should get me closer to the 300 mark wouldnt it?...i realize id probably be held back by the intake for now..but really until next spring when i can work full time again..the budget is not huge...so id keep this intake till next summer sometime n then maybe buy a better one.

it should even with the gt40 intake. if your not at 300 you would be nippin at the 300 mark

ok guys in the past hour ive thrown together a list, tell me what you think..anything i should add/change/get rid of ...idk let me know thanks..again tryin to keep this somewhat on a budget(<3000)...and im almost 19..gotta guy i know who can help me with the work so there wont be much labor..probably just buy him somethin for his fox drag car...

im not lookin for an all out street racer or drag car..i just want somethin that will be reliable and fun to drive...my buddy has a 95 with the trickflow topend kit and just ridin in his is pretty nice..it should be right at that level right?...and with the new pistons n boring i wont have to worry about any blowby will I?
