alright, im in the process of buying this 86 5.0 pretty much all original, the thing is, idk when the last time it was started was, and it has an inspectionsticker from 95, it suppositly has a blown EFI wiring harness along with some missing pieces for the engine( belt, air filter manifold, other stuff) and the dude wants 1000 for it, ive given him 200 dwn on it, he said it cranks over by hand freely but idk, i was looking for sum advice about the whole situation from some of you stag-experts.
If it doesn't start, I wouldn't buy it. Turning freely by hand doesn't mean squat because it could easily have blown head gaskets, bent rods, etc and in most cases you will be able to spin the crank freely. Now if you plan on gutting this and making it a project car, no problemo. Unless it runs, you leave yourself wide open.
A blown EFI wire harness? They don't usually go bad unless they are burnt. It has been sitting since 95 so I would pass, probably has some rust from sitting
