Default rear needs to hold 600rwhp

first of all its staying 4 lug! are 31 splines strong enough if its not a drag car (meaning no launches on slicks)? I know Strange makes 4 lug 33 spline axles and spool, but does anyone make a 33 spline limited slip diff for street use? Are c-clip eliminaters too unreliable for street, i heard they leak sometimes? I'll be converting to disk brakes also, do c clip eliminators interfere with that?

it all depends on what u do to it. if u let it stock, well all u have to do is mount some drag radials on a stock rearend with a stock 5.0 and it won't be long before you snap a axle, if u launch it enough. the stock stuff sux.

I agree with Adder 31 spline is fine. To answer your question about someone making a 33 spline posi, Eaton makes one but that thing is expensive. Mark Williams has it on their website for about $900.

i'm glad 31 splines will be strong enough, becausetheres no way i'm paying 900 for a diff

anyone know if the c clip eliminators interfere with disc brake conversions?

I enquired with Strange just the other day about 8.8" upgrades, for a tad more power than 600.

Im using 31 splines and was using a spool, but have a very slight twist in one of the Moser shafts running low 10's, 3600lbs ( not a mustang ) I was surprised at this

So I made enquiry's about "cheap" upgrades.
Strange quoted me
The axle package would cost $398.70. The heavy duty posi unit would cost you $469.00. Thanks

This is for 33 spline shafts, and a Heavy Duty posi Limited slip diff.

So its what Im going to go for. Although I did also run a 10.04 at 148 on Moser 28 spline's and a Ford Racing Torsen diff, on 255/50x16 MT DR's
When I totally twisted one of these, I went to 31 Splines and a Spool, simply because I couldnt get a diff in time, and a spool was the cheapest option to get up and running. I will NEVER use a spool again. Absolutely horrible on the street.
