Okay I put in an inline pump and now the pump isn't working when I put the key in the on position. There is no noise from the pump and I can't feel it moving at all. I have two fuses missing from my 85's fuse box. Could someone please tell me what the fuses 15 and 17 correspond with? Also their amperages? If someone could give me a complete list I would be really grateful!!! Thanks a tonne anyone!

 

Are you tapped into a circuit that is hot in the run position and have good grounds????

 

I tapped into the harness that used to be running to the in tank pump. I put them on this pump instead of the in tank. I tested them with a mult-metre and they didn't read anything. If I run new wires where should I tap in for a power source, and where should I ground it to do it properly?

 

Did the 85 gt I assume is the one were talking about in your sig area used to be cfi fuel injection meaning two injectors above what appeared to look like a 2 barrel carb???

 

I f it used to be cfi ......like mine was....what you have to do is ground a leg on one of the wires coming off the relay under the drivers seat... I don't remember which one it was without looking at a diagram....but you cut the wire and ground it to the floor and then you can use the existing wire harness set up..otherwise you have to run new wires off a hot in run circuit that will handle the amperage load of your fuel pump..what ever that may be

 

Just looked at the diagram of my car and if what I explained applies to your situation then under the seat is the fuel pump relay and there should be 4 wires going to it cut the T/LG D=Tan light green tracer wire leaving sufficient to ground it to the body of the car....the ecu used to ground this leg of the relay to operate it.....the other wire colors to the relay are Yellow = goes to fuesable link B+ Pink/Black goes to fuel pump power and red/black goes to the inertia switch = powers the pull in side of the relay and the tan/lg wire you cut is the ground side.......perform this simple mod and the factory wiring should now work to power your pump.....make sure you scratch the paint to bare metal so you get a good ground
