Switch Panel
Ok, so I'm about to break down and buy a CD player for my mustang, and I noticed like 80% of the kits eliminate the little cubby hole(which is really useful on a 5 speed car....) So I was thinking about putting a switch panel there. I'm gettin an electric fan, so I know I can put a manual switch there, and I was going to switch a couple accessories like a remote turnon for an amp and stuff like that a little bit later. They have like 5 and 6 switch panels, can anyone think of a practical use for 5 or 6 switches on a street car? and no im not butchering my ignition switch to have a push button starter. like, my teacher told me he had a switch on his old mustang so the brake lights wouldnt come on, so like, a cop wouldnt see him hit the brakes or something like that, any ideas?
well, all you have to do is drill a couple holes and then buy the switches, and add some fuse holders if you really want. But they make switch panels way too expensive. I just need some ideas on what to switch, I'd hate to have just like, 2 switches sitting there
I would rather have 2 usefull switches there then controlling a bunch of useless stuff..... You can always drill and mount the switches and wire them as you have the need. Putting in extra wiring that you do not need for the long run is just a waste of time.
One accesory that I like to have on when everything else is off is for the radio. Hit the accesory wire on it and diode isolate it so that it will not set off the door chime. If you wanted you could also add a fuel pump cut off as a cheap security measure. You would have to have the switch on for it to work so hot wiring it would be a little harder then normal.

I was planning on using the slot for the equalizer. I didn't know that cover was designed to pop back in once you pop it out. And I dont plan on running a bunch of switches if I can't figure out what to do, I just don't want like, two switches offset like there should be more, idk, i'd like it to be assymetric. But if it comes down to it, I'll just mount two. I kinda like the idea of a fuel pump shutoff or maybe a starter kill, but it'd kinda be common sense for someone to flip the switches and see when the car cranks if they've already hotwired it or w/e
