There is a clicking sound that is coming from the dash. it sounds like it is right behind the gauges. it only ticks when the car moves over like 5mph. IDN what it is. Can anyone help. 88 gt hatch.

spedo cables usually make noises in the stangs i know mine does

does it keep clicking up to say 100mph? or around 5mph then stop at like 6 or 7?

try disconnecting the speedo cable and see if the noise stops.

it keeps ticking past 5. idn how high. my pipes are loud. what does the speedo cable look like and do???

if it got bent, the cable, it would tick, could be something inside the speedometer itself, mine makes a noise and it was bent by the previous owner.
