ok, i have a 89 mustang gt conv. i have the mods listed below that basically it. new tires. 17x8 rims. what do i have to do to beat a stock or a slightly bolt-on modded 99-04 modular mustang?i mean obviously supercharging...but besides that...trickflow intake? heads? cam? i wanna pass smog in california too. so what more do i need?

i think ud already beat em, depending on how u/ the other stang drives, ive beaten 4.6's and uve got a few more bolt ons then me

some pullies and a cai might be nice tho, as would a supercharger, or hci swap, but i think it be close now

i have a stereo though so i need the alternator pully, its a conv, maybe i dont need the AC pully

you dont need much at all to beat one! i had a off road h pipe 70mm tb and cai and i was beating stock 4.6's. they where close races but i still got them at the top of third

99-04 gts run 13's out of the box i dont think you guys were beating them with just exhaust and cai's you guys remind me of the honda guys at my school "oh im running 14's in the 1/4 with only exhaust and cai

i've beat them but i have a bit more stuff than a cai and exhaust but yeah i win unless they have a bunch of stuff done i beat a stock 3 valve 4.6 but then i lost to my dad but his isnt stock.. anyways we arent to far behind

oh yeah you can easiely beat one you just need mroe than exhaust and a cai that serves no purpose. hci will put you far in front of them. and gears will get you very close withthem

i have never seen a stock one run 13's and i have seen alot of them run! i will tell you my exact set up when i was barely beating them... full exhust,cai,70mm tb and egr spacer, and timing set at 13 that is it.... of the line they would get me. if we where at a roll 40+ i would get them.... there is a big diffrence between me and the "honda guys at school" i'm telling them truth.. mabe out there they are running 13 but hear in CA i have never seen them run 13's stock
