Default clearance problems

I just got in my new Goodmark 2" cowl hood and it hits! They guy on the phone told me it had functional space. I told him my application and he said it would work. I have a 1" spacer under my gt40 intake. The cross frame is hitting on top of the intake. What can I do to fixand keeping it sturdy.

Get a 4" That or remove the cross brace. But you might have a problem with the hood spider cracking?

The height of the cowl is not the problem. I want a metal hood. This is the only one available! The cross brace should have been closer to the top of the cowl. I was lied to when I ordered it and will deal with that issue on Monday. Losing the spacer is not an option! This problem will have to be fixed with a hood. I know there has to be someone that has ran into this issue. This is the last piece before body and paint. You guys that have ever restoreda car know that when your this close you want it done now. With all that said can someone Please Help Me!

the only thing i could recommend is notching the hood where you need to so you dont mess up the hood that much. how come a glass hood wasnt an option?

Default RE: clearance problems

The reason for the spacer is that I have 1.6 roller rockers with the stud mount conversion. My nstock valve covers float on top of the adjusting nuts. I had to buy aftermarket covers so I got the polished aluminum ford racing covers. They guaranteed that they would would perfectly with a 1" spacer. They did with a little modification with the throttle braket. Now my hood hits which I wanted a new hood anyway. I don't like the monsterous cowl hoods on a street car. I want metal for the longevity and durability. With the metal hood I shouldn't have to worry about chipsor cracks.Everyone I know has has these problems with their hoods over time. I'm not saying all are like that, I really don't know much about the quality of all the different brands. Also, my body man said it costs more to paint a fiberglass hood due to more sanding and fitment. If I knew that the cross brace was where it is and not tucked closer to the top, I would not have bought it! I have been told thatCervini makes an awesome hood. I really like this one but I don't want to take any chances with my paint either. What do you guys think?
