What makes Canfield heads better than AFRs? You can find AFR 185cc heads for around $1350, definitely under $1400.

Same money
Larger intake runners 192cc vs 185cc
Better hardware - better springs, better rocker studs, better valve guides
Better flow characteristics

It is and it isnt commonly known that the hardware AFR uses is not
up to the same quality that their head designs are.

But hey you guys want to make the same mistakes I made and pay extra to
upgrade springs, and replace broken rocker studs with better hardware .......... you go right ahead

For $2,000 my buddy got Custom billet cam, BAD *** heads with matching springs, and billet timing chain set.
Cant beat it, and you KNOW everything will work together and meet your goals cause it was made to meet your goals.

Oh I see, thats understandable.

What head does Canfield make that fits a stock 302 bottom end and will work with my factory rocker arms?

Hi im building a 331 ci stroker and im having trouble deciding on the heads. Trick flow has a top end kit for 2500, its the track heat version http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0B&FROM=MG, will a set of AFR 185's be a better choice, i mean i know they will make more horsepower but how much more? if its nothing big like 10-15 i wont worry about it because the trickflow kit saves alot of trouble. I'm thinkin that the TF will be much easier and less costly. any opinions would be helpful
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I love this freaking debate, because usually people get so pissed off about it..

Anyway as you can see in my Sig..I run Twisted Wedge Heads and that was done after much research and cost to horsepower comparisons etc....

Since I was going the supercharger route I decided to save some money and go with the Twisted Wedge heads; however if I was going to stay Naturally aspirated I would go AFR....

Here is a test on the AFR site on a 302:

399/363-Twisted Wedge
418/372-AFR 185s

i am going to say go with the kit from jay with the canfields not because they are better heads i would say that is a debate that could go on forever it would be because being able to get a complete kit that works well together. also why 331 i know i am running one (and the afr 185's)and wish i had went 347 everyday cause i just threw power away. i also second the holley intake that would be a sweet setup on a 347 and i would almost guarantee 400+rwhp
