chance to buy 2 blocks.... need help.
i have a chance to buy a 1969 Ford 302 block w/ main caps, std. bore (not bored out) C9OE-6015-Cm, and a 1979 block numbered D9OE-6015-E3AZ ( the guy doesnt know if its 302 or a 351). Can anyone provide informtion on the blocks by the casting numbers? i can pick up both blocks for $125 each, so i would really like a yay or nay on them. They have been oiled and wrapped and stored in a DRY non humid basement for 11 years. pending the condition of the blocks/bores iam thinking about doing it, gosh i dont know if i want to build a 347 with the 1969 block, or a 408 with the 1979 block ( If it is a 351).

oh, its a 302, that helps out alot. i guess i should bet my dollar on the 69 block then. When i go to look at it what should i look at closely on the block?

why buy a boss block when my power goals for this build are 450-475 rwhp? I understand where your coming from, telling me to save my money up and buy a aftermarket block, but my horsepower goals on THIS engine is totaly sufficient for a 1969 block that is half filled, and using a girdle. i could have a machined block ready for assembly for around $450, or i could spend $1800+ on a aftermarket block that will still need to see a machine shop. hmmm, tough decision............[sm=smiley24.gif]
