Default is this a 289 or 302 block???

casting number is 0 C5AE-6015E. anyone know if this is a late 60's 289 or 302 block?

289, 302's start with a C8 block.

you can use it for a 302 build, but the cylinder walls are a tiny bit shorter which takes away from the stability of the piston @ the bottom of the stroke. if its complete, use it, a 289 > 302 any day of the week

thats my 87 GT, my wifes new 85 GT that iam having alot of headaches with so far is needing a new engine and i was looking to pick up a 302 block for a mild 331 or 347 N/A car. My mustang is not a daily driver, might drive it 5-8 times a month. I had to buy a 1985 GT for the wife because she likes them, but mine is to much for her to handle.

Alright i will post up some pics after i get off work today. fastest time N/A was 1.48 60, 9.32 1/4. My juice times are embarasing because iam trying to solve this never ending traction problem. I am in the works of converting to 150+250 stages, and hopefully next spring it will grab the track a bit better.

yea i would also like to see those pics i bet that thing is a hand full on the street and i would also like pics of the motor and whole car and maybe a lauch. 9.32 with no juice what are you thinking you will get with the bottle
