Default too much pressure radiator

hi, i got too much pressure in the radiator. Even after the car cools down coolant shoots out of the radiator cap when i take it off.i just got a new northern radiator with a 16psi cap, new aftermarket water pump, a 180 thermostat that was installed correctly, and i had teh cooling system flushed a couple times professionally. i also had a chemical test done on the coolant before to see if the head was cracked or leaking or something and came out negative. anyone have any idea of whats wrong?

Does it have a coolant overflow or overheating problem?

its mainly both. but as long as i have coolant in the radiator its ok. the main thing is that it just builds up so much pressure and i did the chem test to see if the head was cracked or leaking or something and came up negative.

try a new cap, its really the only thing that it could be. sounds like the pressure valve in the cap is bad that it doesn't let air pressure out when it should.... it should vent it out into the overflow if the pressure builds too much or over heats,

You put the Thermostat in backwards.

Mine did this EXACT same thing with maintaining pressure when cold.
Took me forever to figure out. T-Stat was in backwards. I would definitely check that.

If I remember right the spring should be towards the engine.

yea, i put the spring side in first. and i used a gasket and sealer. i guess imma try to get a cap that cost more then 5 bucks at advance auto parts. im also thinking about evans waterless coolant anyone here have experience with that?

more than likely that's ur problem, advance auto... caps there are junk, i've pressure tested caps i've bought b4 from like auto zone, and it was 3 psi off from what the cap was even rated at.. junk, go to the dealer and by a stock one, work great
