Default which tranny?

i currently have a tr-3550 and i dont really like how its a bit notchy and sometimes hard to down shift from 4th to 3rd. i also have a vibration when im driving about 3,000 to about 4,000rpm and its also there when not driving but just reving up and i think its the input shaft being sloppy on the pilot bearing. so with that being said, i plan to replace the flywheel and clutch and the bearings, and i didnt know what i should do with my tranny? should i rebuild it and it will be nice and smooth, go to a tko cause i can reuse my current bellhousing or go to a t56? im leaning toward the t56 cause ive read that its really smooth and the gearing is a little different. and also, ive read that the tko is very notchy and not great to shift even when new. what is your thoughts? if possible, i need good input on all the options, this is a street car that will see the track maybe 3 times a year. hopefully in the near future the car will have 400 rwhp but right now it only has 300.

thats why i was thinking of going to the t56. should be much smoother and there are people selling the d and d viper kit used for around $2000-2400. i can probally get around $800 for my tranny and aluminum driveshaft and the bellhousing ect. that would make it around $1500 for me get myself a 6 speed!

i already replaced it and it helped a little. i also replaced the tranny mount and i think that help a tad bit also. it seems like the vibration lessens as the car and tranny heat up. but im so bias that i convinced myself that i never felt the vibration till my body guy pointed it out. i think about the situation like this" its an 85 mustang... just drive it"
