i guarantee 95% of the people who told you they prefer turbos will never own a mustang with a turbo because ofthe additional cost over a s/cor the fact that its slightly more complicated than a s/c setup. If you wantto build your own turbo setup thats awsome, just know that to do itRIGHT it will probably costalmost as much as buying a quality turbo kit. Thats assuming you use all new parts....
however if you somehow get a new or slightly used turbo(or 2) for free like i did, then you can easily save 1200-2200 bucks over a kit

Well actually you're dead wrong
MP T-70 turbo ........ $600
BBK shorty headers ....... $250 (ceramic coated)
Intercooler ............. $300
Tail Wastegate ........ $200
Tail BOV ............... $200
Piping ..................... $200
Misc Parts .......... $100
Total ...............$1,750 for all top quality parts. ........ or about the same as a crappy entry level s/c
and half the price of buying a kit.

r. barn i agree aturbo setupcan be made for that little, but heres the stuff i factored in
fuel injectors, fuel pump, maf = 450
electric fan and aluminum radiator(part of what i consider "doing it right") = $350
i dont know where to get $300 intercoolers, the best i found was $800, are you talking universal fit intercoolers?
also i factored inthe headers made specifically for turbos whichwere 1100
so 1750 plus what i priced out is almost 3900, wich is not much less than HP's base kit which is $4495

Radiator and fan not coming with S/C either ............. so again thats a fixed cost for either install and not really a MUST
Treadstone and VSRacing sell very nice intercoolers for $300 or less.
If you want specially made turbo headers, B&G Turbo will make you a set for $550 but BBK shorties work.
