OIL PAN and Dipstick
i have a 1995 cobra and the dipstick is 29inches long and i heard the sticks are 31 inches now i thought i had a 7qrt oil pan until i heard this now i think its 5 and some **** job but a different dipstick in teh car ... this kinda **** drives me up the wall anyone know what the hell is going on? does the pan have a number on it i could see to match it with a stock one?

One thing you can do is, after an oil change when you know you have the right amount of oil and have run the car to fill the filter up...let it drain into the pan and check your dipstick. Mark/scratch it at the 'full' level which you just determined.
Back stepping, fill it one quart low to mark the dipstick at that level before adding your final quart...

yeah its a good idea but the dipstick in this case is shorter then what it should be... why would someone put a dipstick in 2 inches shorter then it suppose to be? the reading is way off then i must of put 2 extra qrts of oil in what kind of **** happens with that.
