Default cam choices

i am lookin for a new cam, as i ran into a problem with my E303. I now know that there are alot more choices than just the FMS ones and was wondering, with the setup in my sig what kind of cam mihgt be good. I am looking for a mild street cam good from about 1000-5000. Any suggestions are appreciated.

if you still have stock heads and an intake a cam really won't do you much good so are the heads and intake stock??? your sig says nothing about them???

well then you need to choose a head and intake combo and match a cam to that or choose a cam and match heads and intake to that.......but if you really want a benifit of a cam then heads and intake are a must.......if money is tight look for a set of gt 40 heads and or a cobra intake and a split pattern cam some where around the .500 lift range and you should have a nice street combo then...if done right 260 to 275 hp at the rear wheels

ok,let me clarify this. I would like to know what ppl think is a good cam for street vehicle. I am not opposed to FMS cams, just have heard that there is better. I ran into a problem with a custom grind and i desperately need a new cam now!!!I know with my stock heads and intake I will not see much of a gain, but i am not going to put another cam in the car again when i want to upgrade those, and when I do, they will be a mild build, so it will run on the cam with the current heads and intake fine. I am looking for a cam that will perform well on the street about 1k-5k rpms.

E303 will work fine. I have seen them make 290rwhp with good bolt ons.

1-5K rpm range is perfect for a stock cam. With decent heads and intake the stock cam will peak power around 54-5600 rpm.

Not to hijack the thread, but I just purchased a set of GT40 heads, and planned on using the Trick Flow Stage 1 cam. I also have a Cobra Intake and will have 2-1/2" off road exhaust with unequal shorties. Do you think I'll reach 260 - 275 with this combo (stock 19lb injectors and MAF, Stock throttle body)

i love my ecam. Sure there are better cams out there, but hey, i got it for $100, so i took it. I wanted a comp xe270, but i didn't feel like coughing up $280 for it at the time. I'm running with gt40p's, so the ecam is perfect for those because they don't really flow too well over .500 lift. In a couple of years when i decide to get some better heads(afr's or edelbrocks) i'll invest in another cam. i chose the fms cam over the tfs cam because i think its better(my opinion).

FLcracker9: If you put on a bigger MAF and TB(76mm and 70mm TB), you'll probably see into the high 270s low 280s.
