Rear disk brakes off MkVII or SN95
Going to convert my rear brakes to disks because I have always hated drums and my drums have been giving me trouble despite having replaced and adjusted everything. They bind and shudder because the shoes won't seat right no matter what I do. I've never had an old car that didn't eventually develop issues with the drums. Anyways I will convert to 5 lugs in the process, I will use MkVII front rotors, and I will be using 15x7 Ford rims that will fit over the dustcaps with regular 225/60/15 tires.
For the rear I plan to use the shafts (extra width not a concern), rotors, calipers, and brackets from a MkVII or SN95, is there any benefit to either, are they even different from each other? The physical installation of the axles and calipers of course is a piece of cake.
What I can't seem to find information on, despite my searching, is how the e-brake connects. Will the stock cables fit the calipers, or the stock cables off the donor car fit the balance bar on my car?
Also, I need from people who have done this; what happens if you do not touch the master cylinder or proportioning valve, will the rear brakes lock up, or not engage sufficiently? I've heard of adjusting the master cylinder via a screw in it, anybody know about this? See I'm trying to do this on a budget with minimal time, the less tearing apart of stuff and less money spent the better, so long as the car stops as well as stock, I'm happy.
Thanks in advance for any info...

the factory master cylinder will not work because the rear calipers need more fluid than it can provide. here's a link i found helpful when i was doing things to my brakes:

not sure if it says anything about the e brake cables though

Thanks, but I've read that stuff already, and while it has good information, it only says 'you need this part because this will happen'. Well maybe so, but they never said anything like 'I first tried the rear disk calipers with stock MC and got a spongy pedal and no rear braking. A new MC helped but the bias was wrong and the rears would lock up, and so the adjustable prop valve solved it' That's what I'm looking for, info from an actual experience before I spend the time and money on parts that aren't neccessary to make it function right. They may make it work perfect, but I just need it to work right now, I can go perfect it later. I had read somewhere one person saying they installed rear discs with no other mods and got a spongy pedal with poor braking, I don't think they said what calipers (sn95 or Mk7 or?). If that's the case then I have no choice.
For e-brake cables it looks like I need the cables meant for an SVObecause they used the Lincoln rear discs.
I shouldn't even have to do this, I'll never understand why Ford didn't equip these cars with the 5 lug parts and disc brakes they already had on other fox cars, the braking isn't sufficient and the effort to adapt already existing components to a similar car is minimal and marginal in cost. I hope whoever decided Fox Mustangs didn't need better brakes crashed in a Stang that simply couldn't stop.
