Whats causing it to miss?
What is causing my car to miss.It only does this when I first start up the car, then it goes away. It will miss and make louder pop like a backfire. then it goes away, bascily when ever I start the car it will do this. then It goes away after like 5 min or so, What could be causing I made sure all the elecrtical stuff is pluggged in. Could this be an electrical problem or a gas problem, timing too high, Any Ideas will be welcome, I need help bad, I tried cleaning the Iac and cleaned the maf what else can I trie, Im desperate.

My car does something similar. When you cold start it, you somtimes have to turn it over for awhile, and it runs a little choppy and sometimes it will even pop like a backfire. Then, after the engine gets up to proper temperature, it smooths out for the most part (still doesn't seem to run perfect though). I checked the plugs/wires and they look pretty good and the IAC and Mass Airflow are fine.
After looking it up in a Haynes repair manual, my hypothesis is the fuel pump. It listed the fuel pump in both troubleshooting categories of starting hard when cold and for idleing choppy. So the fuel pump is my guess, but i am no expert lol.

i dont think its the fuel pump it goes away after it warms up. 302's dont like cold starts. i have had 2 and have been working on them for 13 years and thay all have problems with cold starts. they just do that.

Well, to make your life easier, if you feel like changing your fuel pump, simply do it after running your tank to almost empty. Trust me, an empty tank is many times easier to drop than a full one, lol.
