Default phenolic spacers

i am looking at getting new valve covers for my car and i will most likely need a spacer for my intake. my question is other then needing it to clear the covers does it serve any other purpose to have one

serves a couple purposes. lengthing the intake runners make more room for the air to gain velocity. it also doesnt transfer heat from the lower intake to the upper intake therfore making the upper intake temp cooler, denser air= more power. you gain little bit of TQ for the spacer. IMO its worth the money.

If you get one of those wood or plastic ones it will keep your upper intake MUCH cooler.
