Did I kill my Heater Core?

Did I kill my Heater Core?
Hey,
I just replaced the inlet hose to the heater core last night. After I replaced it, I took the car for a good rip to ensure it wasnt leaking again. Once I pulled back into my driveway, Steam was coming from the cowl behind the hood and from some of the vents inside the car.And I had some coolant dripping again. Is my heater core toast?
thanks in advance.
