yea and considering its a 90 model it probably has r12 and thats a serious fine, i cant remember if its a felony or not. i know that if you ever went to change it over to 134a at a shop they have to store it in a tank to either recharge r12 systems, which is unlikey, or dispose of it properly, which i dont know the technique. but if i was you id just leave it all there, and run a short belt. no need to move anything. call autozone and ask them for a belt that bypasses a.c. they should have a listing.

-Take ur belt off.
-After discharging(legally or not) either use wrenches and take the lines off, or do what I did on my s-10 and hacksaw the lines off. Or unbolt one side and bend till the metal rips from fatigue. You should know just by looking at it which lines to take off.
-Unbolt your compressor and take it out. Remove ur evaporator from in front of the radiator. Remove unit under dash(pain the ***, no point, i left mine in).
-Get an a/c delete kit, use the brackets, dont half *** it like whatever other retard wants u to. Unbolt your power steering and make sure the lines are long enough to reach the pump when it is in the position that the compressor was(my return line was about an inch too short so I had to get a longer one). Either look to another stang for reference or check some pics online to see how the brackets should be placed, Fordracing kitcomes with 2 diff pieces(u have to replace current brackets), ones aluminum for the p/s pump and the other is a steel one that bolts to the water pump housing and all that good stuff, if i remember right.
-After that its just a matter of finding a belt that fits. Start with the part store belts for factory non-a/c and go from there. That belt didnt fit mine so I had to go a bit above those specs.
Im pretty sure thats all. It's so easy a chick could do it.
The only remnants of my a/c system is the unit under the dash and the 2 holes in the firewall leading to it. I just tucked the a/c harness in with some other wires.

ok since you all think im making this up, that i didnt do this to my own car and i really just imagined all of this, i made two seperate pictures. i was unable to find a realpicture online or the diag. so i went out to my car , sketched it, then did these on here. so assuming that all 5.0s are the same.....heres what it looks like normal, and heres 1 with a short belt. someone show me where its rubbing.

guess my assumption was wrong. thats why i was trying to find a diag online but for some reason there isnt any. where are fox body compressors...for future ref?
